How can you tell what's real and what's dream logic?!
The residents of Gensokyo have woken up to find that the very fabric of existence has been distorted! Polished diamonds are growing on trees, dirt paths are now made of fancy glass, the distances between landmarks have changed, and even people seem to be behaving differently! To find out what’s going on, the defenders of Gensokyo must explore a surreal new world, and maybe even learn to bend the rules of reality themselves…
東方実在相 ～ Dream Logical World is an STG fangame and the first released project by Analogue Reverie. The project’s leader, VYCM, started the game in 2015 and worked on it alone until 2018, when VYCM joined Analogue Reverie and the other members were brought on.
While this game follows the standard STG format with stages, bosses, lives and bombs, we aim to provide a unique and fun experience that breaks some of the usual Touhou conventions, with a particular focus on strategy, scoring, and story. Instead of traditional bombs, you’ll get to use reality-warping “Aspect Shifts” that have a different special effect for every character. You control two characters in a team, and you’ll need to master their Aspect Shifts to earn extra lives and reach high scores in the billions.

Dream Logical World offers a wide variety of gameplay styles with a large cast of playable characters, including not only fan favorites like Sakuya and Sanae but also lesser-seen characters like Yuuka Kazami, Seija Kijin, and Kosuzu Motoori. Every team’s separate scenario weaves together into a story with many mysteries and surprises along the way. (Though if lore isn’t your thing, fear not—just press the Skip button and you’ll get straight to the action!)
We’ll be releasing a trial version this summer, with the full game planned to release later in 2021. The game will be available for free both on Steam and as a direct download from a number of other websites. Follow the links below to stay updated and find more information.
