Touhou Game Jam?
The Touhou Game Jam is a free-to-enter game development event where you can create a game in a short amount of time!
What is a game jam?
A game jam is an event where game creators come together to make a game in a short period. No prior experience is necessary! Just create a game based on the theme within the given time frame and have fun with everyone else. All completed games will be published on our website.
Different from regular jams, we’ll be picking up entries and inviting big names to play your games on Touhou Station live stream!
We welcome Touhou fans and creators at all experience levels! As long as you think you can make a Touhou fangame within a week given a theme, you’re ready to go! Don’t think you can do it all by yourself? Team up with your friends!
All submissions will be available to be played and downloaded on our dedicated website! Rejoice with us this autumn, as we’ll be creating and playing Touhou fangames together!

Jam Rules
- Submitted games must be derivative games based on Touhou Project.
- Submitted games must be related to one of the themes provided.
- You may work as an individual or as a team.
- Only 1 game can be submitted per submission. Up to 5 submissions from the same email address are accepted.
- By submitting, you’ve given permissions for others to stream or create gameplay videos of your games.
- Submitted games must NOT contain elements that are considered adult-only. i.e. Excessive depictions of sexual behaviors, nudity, violences, and gores, are NOT allowed and will be removed.
- You must comply with ZUN’s derivative guideline on Touhou Project fan-made contents.

Jam Theme
We decided not to translate themes literally as they are never meant to be interpreted in their literal definitions alone. But in the meantime, we do not wish to explain too much as it may potentially narrow down your views on the topic.

Eventually, it’s up to you to decide whether you want to follow the literal definition or Touhou related specifics derived from those words. There’s no right or wrong as long as you can explain your own interpretation!
